Registrations and Start Times

Why am I getting an error reading when I try to register for the event?

The registration software only supports Internet Explorer or Safari, please ensure you use one of those browsers.

I haven’t received my email confirmation ticket?

If you have not received your email confirmation within 24 hours of purchasing, please email info@desertwarriorchallenge.com.

Can I register late or on the day of event?

All registrations are made online up until the day before the event.  If there are still spaces, we will be selling tickets on the event day at the check-in counter.

How many people are needed to form a team?

A team can be made up of as little or many people as you wish.

Can i edit my team details?

As a team captain you can edit all of your team details on the ‘Team Management’ section on the event entry page.

Do I have to register as part of a team to participate in the event?

Not at all. Many individual Warriors prefer to challenge themselves on their own. However, individual participants may join other teams on the morning of the event or form their own teams with other individuals. While team participation is encouraged as part of the Desert Warrior Challenge experience, it is not mandatory.

Are team members required to finish at the same time?

All Warriors are entitled to finish at their own pace. However, in the ‘Extreme’ warrior category, your final time will be recorded when your last teammate crosses the finish line.

What should I do if my team’s Wave time is full?

If the Wave time your teammates have registered for is full, we will do our best to slot you into an earlier time. However, in most cases, your team will need to move to a later Wave time if you wish to run together. Register for the next available Wave time, and 5 days prior to the event, you will receive your team’s exact starting time.

What happens if I am late for my start time?

It is crucial to arrive at your assigned time to secure your position and avoid delays. If you are late, we will do our best to slot you into the next available time, but you may need to wait.

Can I change my start time?

In extreme circumstances, we will try to accommodate your request. However, please note that start time changes are rare as they affect all other Warriors on the day.

What time do I start the event?

During registration, you can request to start within a specific 2-hour time slot called a Wave. While we will do our best to honor your request, it cannot be guaranteed. You will receive your exact start time via email 5 days before the event.

Pricing And Refunds

How much does it cost to enter a DWC event?

Costing depends on the event and location. You can view the details on the event page. All tickets are charged in AED.

What is included in my registration?

Your registration includes entrance to the obstacle course, a Warrior T-Shirt, and your ‘Warrior-Reward’ upon crossing the finish line.

If I cannot participate in the event due to injury, conflict, or personal reasons, am I entitled to a refund?

As per the terms and conditions agreed upon by participants, we do not offer partial or full refunds under any circumstances. While we understand this may not be ideal, we do offer the ability to transfer your entry to a future event within a 12-month period. To utilize this option, you must inform the DWC team and receive confirmation of your transfer before the original event date. This offer is only valid for purchased or partially purchased tickets.

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and you may have to miss the event. Therefore, we allow you to transfer your registration to another DWC event or another person. To do so, log into your Trumin account and follow the steps. All changes must be completed before 4 PM the day prior to the event. A minimal fee will be charged for these changes.

How do I transfer my entry to a future event?

Notify the DWC team via email at least 24 hours before the event date if you cannot attend. You will then have 12 months to participate in another DWC event free of charge under the same category.

Can free tickets be transferred to a future event?

Free tickets are only valid for the event they were originally issued for and cannot be transferred to future events.

VOLUNTEERS

How do I qualify for my discount?

All you need to do is complete your scheduled WST shift, and you’ll be given a promotional code to use for entering the next event. Make sure you check in and out with your WST coordinator on the day of the event.

I need to change/cancel my scheduled shift. What should I do?

Log on to your Volunteer Local account and follow the prompts to change or cancel your shift. You can also contact the volunteer coordinator at wst@desertwarriorchallenge.com.

When will I know what time my shift is and my allocated position?

During the sign-up process, you will be able to choose your shift and WST position. The volunteer coordinator will contact you in the weeks leading up to the event to confirm your shift and provide all necessary details.

Can I participate on the same day I volunteer?

As we need our WST members at their allocated stations throughout the whole shift, you won’t be able to participate during your shift.

How old do I have to be to volunteer?

You must be 18 years or older to volunteer for an event. However, if you are 16 or 17 and wish to volunteer, you may do so as long as you are accompanied by your guardian during the shift, and your guardian signs the applicable waiver form.

Can I volunteer in the same role as my family/friends?

You may request to be in the same role, and we will do our best to place you together. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be in the same area or role.

Do I have to complete my full shift?

To ensure the day runs smoothly, we require that all WST members complete their full allocated shift. Please only sign up if you can commit to attending your entire shift.

Is there any transportation?

While we cannot provide personal transportation, there will be free transport for WST members via a bus from an allocated pick-up/drop-off point in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. If you wish to use the bus, you must inform the volunteer coordinator at least two weeks before the event.

Will I get a break during my shift?

You will have a scheduled meal break, which your volunteer coordinator will inform you about at the start of the day. If you need to use the bathroom, feel free to do so, but it is essential to maintain the required number of WST members at your station. This will be explained during the briefing.

Is there a bag drop?

There will not be any bag drop facilities for WST members. However, you can take a small bag with you to your station. Please note that DWC cannot take responsibility for the security of your belongings at any time.
